Evil ending for Dark Urge is...
A bit of a let down for me. There's nothing showing the aftermath of his genocide or what happens to Durge himself. Yeah I know it was mentioned but I wanna see it unfold. I was happy to finally see him speak (aside from Orin) but immediately disappointed when I saw how off the lip sync was. It also sucks that it's literally the only time he speaks at all. This was just a bit upsetting. It was nowhere near as emotionally satisfying as the good ending. It really should have been at least close to that. No closure, just you hearing him say 'in Bhaal's name'. I mean I liked that but... that's it? Nothing else? C'mon.
His other bad ending was fine though, I didn't expect much really. It's sad but neat to see the result of betraying Bhaal too late, becoming nothing but a rabid dog hellbent on murder. No major expectations there. They even sorta kinda mentioned an ending that they cut before release, where he's now being used to create more Bhaalspawn albeit without actually showing of course. Not that they needed to for this particular scene. I was fine with this one, but again no aftermath of your slayings or if your companions put you out of your misery.
The suicide ending was a bit of a letdown? He kills himself to save everyone from Bhaal. He seems to be in some sorta purgatory and Withers visits him and tells him that 'he may be dead but his story is far from over'. What did he mean by this? I'm pretty sure he says the same thing without the dead part in the good ending. Maybe this means we're getting new DLC in the future? I'm not sure what they're planning if that's the case. I just wish Withers could let you say goodbye for the last time. I'm sure he could allow your spirit, wherever it is, to do so. This ending was just really sad. They never even showed you your grave. I'd imagine you would have been buried somewhere. Maybe on the campground or something. I dunno.
Maybe I'm just being a bit too negative. I still think he's the best origin character in the game. Still butthurt that default Durge isn't his own character and the fact he never truly speaks except in the evil ending. I hope more content comes for him in the future.
Another thing that sucks is that you don't really get much from becoming Chosen. You get Power Word Kill (which I used to beat the Netherbrain) and a buff but you don't get powers? I mean I was half-illithid which made up for that but really?? I'd at least want some god-like powers and some items for my troubles like Shadowheart, but better. Not just a little buff. The Slayer kinda sucks honestly. You're supposed to be this unstoppable killing machine but you're just so squishy. At least it protects your base health I guess. And yeah the cape is OP but you get that regardless if you go good or evil.
I'm probably gonna stick with just playing Resist Durge from now on honestly. Or go for a more tragic Durge. One who tries to do good but can hardly control himself. I dunno though. I might just try regular Tav and roll with it.
I needed to get that outta my chest. I love this game and I'm still gonna keep playing this origin character but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ did evil Durge piss me off. I had high expectations because of how awesome the Good Durge ending was despite its flaws but man I was really let down by this. This really wasn't worth the 60 hours. Like I said I hope they go back eventually and fix Durge at some point because this ain't it. I've never been this obsessed with a fictional character in my life, even if he's technically just a tav for whatever reason.

My advice to anyone that wants to see the straight up "evil" Dark Urge endings is to just watch them on YouTube. Don't waste your time.

I wish I saw this kind of post a few months back when I started a 2nd, total evil play through as Dark Urge from the very beginning of the game. The Dark Urge "committed to being evil" endings stink.

Seems that given how the decision branches in this game are designed, it doesn't matter if you play good or evil all through Act 1 and 2, and through Act 3 up until the point where you have to make a decision about whether or not to side with Bhaal. . I would have saved time by not doing a 2nd play through at all, reload an earlier save from my first play through, and having my "good" played Dark Urge (from my original play through) just make the "evil" choice at that one pivotal moment to see the two weaker endings. That would have saved me 80 hours or so.

The only highlight of doing a 2nd play through was I got to experience Act 1 much differently, and picked up Minthara as a girlfriend. The Act I experience was unique enough to be cool, but you can tell Minthara is a VERY underdeveloped character compared to the other characters, which is a shame because she begins as a pretty interesting one, and a great complement to the DU. She was pretty cool for a while, but about halfway into Act 3, her dialogue dries up as far as side banter.

Given the implications of going all the way through with the seizing control of the Netherbrain to eradicate the world, , you'd think Larian could have added a few more minutes of cut scenes and dialogue to elaborate on this outcome given all the other content they added to the game that most players will never see. Instead, it is a weak, very short cut scene, that leaves the rest to imagination. Either their heart just wasn't into evil endings, or they ran out of time (that wouldn't surprise me a bit given the state of Act 3).

Staying evil, but then not seizing control of the brain is even worse, because it cuts you out of the epilogue options. So all the other character development done throughout the game is totally trashed. There is no way to converse with your companions at the camp, and no alternative to it, since you become a raving pyscho with no way out. Taking this route, one of the end dialogue options after getting to the end alludes to challenging Bhaal . It would have been nice if that was a way out so that the epilogue could be enjoyed, but nope.

Yeah I agree. Evil endings feel underdeveloped. When I beat the game as evil Durge I was like 'wait, that's it?' Completely ruined the game for me and left me disappointed and a bit upset and frustrated. Spent 70 hours going through a badly constructed evil path just to get that ending. I know there was a conversation that you have between another character (i forget who) where you get to say what Durge will do when he's finished with his jihad. I just wish they could show something or give you the option to change your mind. Maybe in a possible DLC they could add stuff, that would be cool.

Just finished my first Durge / Honor mode run. I went back the save and chose the other option to deny Bhaal after sitting in the throne. You get the epilogue camp, but you just sit there waiting at the edge of the party in the dark, waiting for everyone to go to sleep so you can then slaughter them all after they pass out. You get a few text dialogues but it doesn't effect anything no matter what you choose.
