deluxe edition?
now that we have a physical deluxe edition I'm assuming larian by their standard is screwing over early adopters and we will have to buy the deluxe edition AGAIN at full price for the physical stuff?

i wonder if we can buy it the fourth time at definitive version for more new stuff

No idea what your problem is. You can choose not to buy that stuff.

its right there, the problem is they're adding collectable stuff for the game and forcing you to buy a copy of the game for every new addition

absolutely senseless greed

I still do not see ANY problem there.

a) if you do not want those stuff, which are not of much value to begin with, you just do not buy

b) if you are a collector, then you do not want to open it to begin with as you keep stuff in mint condition anyroads

Anything inbetween seems savage to me.

That is your personal opinion and therefore your personal problem.
You can choose not to be greedy.

If the game copy with the Collector's Edition is linked to any platform, the code should be possible to sell while keeping the physical items. It might be not ideal, but if Larian sold the Collector's Edition without the game itself, more people would have been disappointed (can't recall who, but one company did it). I assume that the inevitable Definitive Edition will be free for the current owners, as the epilogues were.

Mhm. If I recall it right Blizzard did it and also Bethesda. With basically "Collector Edition stuff" without the actual game.

And yeah, for the Collector's Edition it was like that, that you got a code separately. I saw on ebay quite a bunch who did what you described.

I doubted at first that the same handling applies to the Deluxe Edition, but in another thread a player got confirmation from Larian Support it is supposed to be like that again.

i dont know if you were here but around 2 million people already owned the game when they announced the CE, if any of those wanted the CE they were paying for two copies. Its just a matter of choice add the piece of paper with the code to the package or dont. theyre fully aware of how theyre cashing in on the users just for the sake of selling more copies, its a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ greedy tactic for companies like EA.

imagine thinking that giving people options is a bad thing, love the double standard. bethesda and blizzard also didnt have a 3 year EA period where you could own the game and afterwards add additional editions of the game, where if you wanted that content you would have to buy the game again

You are reading to much into it with wrong assumptions. You are not forced to buy the collectors or deluxe edition, unlike your thinking.

i guess sarcasm is a new concept to you

larian is forcing me to buy another copy if i want the collectibles, what part do you not understand?

Im not assuming anything, its a fact, they could have made separate versions for people to buy who already own it, they chose not to cause they want to sell more copies.

imho it is a good thing they are releasing it but they should have told ppl much earlier that they could pre order the physical release (thus giving them an option before hand) and not dumping it on customers at the last second
