Is there a mod that removes romance from the game?
Im not into all the horny porno crap and id love to know if theres a mod that modifies the game so that the romance stuff is either not there, or a mod that makes it so that romance dialogue only appears if I seek it out myself intentionally?
The DnD i know has never been this sex based in the past and id like to keep it that way.
Any solutions? I know that theres a gazillion players that find the sex stuff in bad taste so there must be Some mod out there that addresses it :D

Oh thanks! Im a bit of a noob when it comes to mods. I found a download link for it at the ShareMods site. But i want to ask how do i apply it once i download it? Is there a speciffic folder i have to put it in? And do i have to redownload a new one each time BG3 has an update and the mod gets broken?

You can also just not start romances without mods, dunno why people don't just do that.

I dont like it when characters even allude to anything or flirt. Like Wyll asking me for a dance. Im like... dude, im a hairy dwarf! Wtf u doing? xD I do not want that vibe in my adventure. Not everyone lives in san fransisco and i dont want to be near any of that ideology crap thats festering in some societies. So id rather just cut any hints of romance all together. Anyone can play the game however they want, but im not into gay midget interracial flirts in my games...

Yeah I wouldn't exactly call not being a hateful person 'ideology crap' so you're on your own with that.

I mean, this is the sequel to the game that made romance a major feature of crpgs, it's not surprising it's a possible choice you can pursue. Just seems pretty weird to mod all of about 4 dialogue lines out of a game, people are pretty sensitive it seems.

Not saying you can't, just..not something I can begin to understand.

Its really just a recoil effect many people get when its felt that a thing is being forced upon you. South park even has a great recent movie about this very thing. Everything has to be a minority and gay and all that would be fine, if it wasnt in EVERYTHING now. Its in every show and movie and even games. People are being hired and fired based on their gender, not their competence. If youre not black or gay or trans youre out. Thats the ideology i find repulsive. We are supposed to be Colorblind as a society! And someone poisoned this game with this crap a bit. Its not too bad, but id like to remove any trace of it. Inclusivity has to happen slowly and naturally, not by making all superheroes warmommys and and gay. Most people dont want their entertainment to try and teach them morals and change norms. Admittedly even the gay and trans community dont want this attention. This crap just causes friction, causes conflict and i feel allergic to this ideology crap thats been happening this past 3-4 years. If youre fine with it, thats cool. I just want MY kind of normalcy in my entertainment, which is stuff being as neutral as possible.

There's literally none of that in this game though. I played as a straight white male in a setting that (like real life) happened to include some gay people, some lesbians, and some different ethnicities. Not even a lot.

Nobody objected to my character being a straight white male and nobody tried to do anything gay with me. The game certainly didn't try to teach me any morals. Well, maybe that murder is sometimes bad.

Anyone acting like this is too much is WAAAAAY out on the fringes of society and my understanding is that the South Park movie you're mentioning mocked them as they deserved.

Do you want a mod to prevent people from flirting with you in real life too? Or would you just do what you can do in the game and say "no thanks, Not interested"?

ffs

So, just to set the record 'straight', as it were... there is no 'porno crap' in this game, nor is there any.

Additionally.... YOU CHOOSE WHETHER TO ENGAGE IN SEXUAL SITUATIONS. IT IS IN THE GAME DESCRIPTION.

I guess you, like most others, decided not to read the entire game description. Odd isn't it?

Im playing a game. I dont want to have to say no thanks. Ive been playing games since 94. It wasnt an issue back then, it is now. Thank god for mods and i can remove it. Thats about it. Im glad you were able to avoid the gay come ons. As you can see in this forum, there are hundreds of posts that complain about it. There are also posts that complain about the warmommy stuff. You must have been lucky or you dont consider these things an issue.
Main thing is, give the player the control to have the kind of adventure they want to have. Be it straight, gay or furry. I and many others feel that things are being pushed on to us. Heck the devs themselves patched out some stuff cause it was just blatantly annoying, like Gale coming on to you. Im glad theyre a bit sensible about it at least. The game seriously needs more dialogue options to just be friends with people, thats for sure. Its kinda black n white atm. Its either bang or ignore or talk about mission stuff n thats about it...

I don't consider these things an issue.
Because I'm not an entitled whiner who expects every piece of media to be modified just to satisfy my prejudices.

ITS NOT AN ISSUE.

The characters flirt with you...and you can say NO THANKS. And then they leave you alone.

And that happens in real life too. When you're down the pub and someone you're not interested in comes up to you and flirts with you....YOU CAN SAY NO THANKS.

Sheesh.

Personally I think it's pretty pathetic that there's so many people who can't cope with this stuff being an option in the game (you can chose to engage with it, or chose not to) that they need a MOD to take it out.

Sorry, but I'm old. I grew up playing games where modding was not an option. You had to put up with what the game was. You played the game that the devs made, and that was that. I find it damn weird that the devs have created this game, and gone to all this effort and the first thing people do is be so entitled that they rush out to immediately ALTER the game with mods.

It's baffles me. Nearly as much as all the infantile pearl clutching about the romance and characters in the game. WAAAH WAAAAH The elf man came onto me!!!! Waaaah Waaaah it made me feel funny in my no no parts and now I have to whine about it endlessly on the forums! Waaaah waaaah! There are strong independent women in the game!!!! I can only cope with wilting damsels in distress!!! Waaah Waaah Waahhh

Effing Pathetic.

You literally get commanded to straight up have sex in BG 2 during one questline.

It's not the games that changed to be pushier, it's the people that changed to be more whiny.

Yeah I'm always surprised by how much modding people do myself - basically I tend to only touch it for total conversions or sometimes a quality of life feature in very rare cases (like separating honor mode no save from honor mode difficulty changes).

Or I guess something like graphics mods for Morrowind because it's 20 years old now and it's kinda interesting with a longer view distance.

BG2 was hetero-only and way more toned-down. I mean, go out to some bar or nightclub and ask another dude to dance with you and come back here and post your results. No. It’s. Still. Not. Normal.
