I can never get past act 1
Every time I play this game, I start with a cool idea for a character and really get into it for like 20 hours in act 1. Then by the time I'm ready to start act 2, I have the idea for another character and I want to start over with that since I think it'll be more fun.

This cycle has repeated for like 150 hours of playtime and as a result the farthest I've gotten in this game is the gauntlet of shar. I don't think this is a serious "problem" since I'm having fun, but like, does anyone else go through this sort of thing too?

If you like mechanics and playing with builds stick it out to act3 and then you can respec and experiment until your hearts content. Also, even in act 1 you can get a hireling to experiment with.

You can repec a lot earlier than that considering you just need to find Withers

Yes.

Yes but it's Act 3 for me. Once certain things happen with a random companion/camp encounter and there's like 20 other active quests I get overwhelmed. Honor mode might be worth a try if you like restarting a bunch of times

Id prolly be doing the same if I hadn't overplayed during EA xD

introduce your new ideas into your current playtrough. There are hirelings you can use for this

Yea, chronic rerollitis is a terribly affliction. I've lived with it for over forty years and I can tell you that it doesn't get easier. 90% of my playtime in most RPGs is spent in the first 10% of the game. Don't be like me; seek professional help.

In act 3 is where it gets fun because you have all 12 lvls to play with.It seemed the op wanted to experiment.

I have the same issue. I got through most of act 1, then was like "what if I did that instead?" or "what if I was a different class/gender/alignment?", the list goes on. I have managed to complete the game twice, once as the Dark Urge. But all through those playthroughs, I stopped a few times and made new characters, then decided I preferred the one I was playing before, and I managed to get back into it.

The problem I have now is that I want to play the origin characters, but every time I get a couple of hours into it, I want to make my own character. So I've not managed to get far down that route yet!

You're missing out.

The complaints about Act 3 are wholly overblown and it's probably one of my favorite acts.

No, with right builds there is no such a problem.

Are you having fun? then you are doing it RIGHT.

While I have played through to the end twice, I do get that way sometimes as well. Now that we have custom difficulty, we can just toggle on always ask about reactions rather than going through the spellbook for each character when we start over.
