So I cant push Spider/Hag off a cliff to kill them.

I assume its because both of these creatures have teleport abilities? However, the hag pushed me off a cliff and insta-killed me.

So my question is this. If I drink a fly potion, can I too, teleport back up the cliff? Or is this a boss-only type thing to prevent cheesing them?

That would actually be an awesome property of the Fly spell if it worked that way.

Personally, I think that if its not, then they should make it so that if you have any kind of teleport/fly spell/potion/scroll, you should be able to use it as a reaction when falling to your death.

To the original post though, I've seen videos of people pushing the Matriarch directly into the pit so it's doable. I'll try to find one and link it.

No idea what you mean. I pushed the hag off into the chasm and won the fight in her lair.

Only later I found out she casted Feather Fall on herself.

I wonder what the requirement for it is, or if its a tactician+ thing. Both times, I fought her, she just re-materialized at the edge of the cliff. Same for the hag.

Just like players, some targets are immune to being shoved or have very high resistance.

No idea what you mean. I pushed the hag off into the chasm and won the fight in her lair.

Were you playing on tactician mode? Because I have knocked the spiders off cliffs multiple times in multiple playthroughs, and both the small spiders and the matriarch all just re-materialize back on the edge in a prone position.

Same just happened to me with the hag, who proceeded to yeet me off the cliff in return.

Could be. I didn't look too far into it.

Maybe it's new. I haven't done those fights for several patches.

You definately can kill the spider matriarch by pushing her. In fact if you get her to fall into the "underdark chasm" rather than one of the side chasms, then you'll find her body down in the landing zone with the minotaurs.

They updated the hag fight on Tactician and Honor mode in one of the recent patches. Something in the notes along the lines of "Hag remembers she can cast magic and cant be pushed into the chasm now"

Edit: Just checked and it was Patch 5 (buried under all the new stuff) "In Tactician Mode, the hag can no longer be killed by being Shoved into chasms. She can cast magic, after all."
