I hear a lot of talk about Bards

I can only assume that Bard:Collage of Swords and Slashing Flourish is why people claim they are so great. I mean it can't be Extra Attack because you can get that easily other places. I don't see how this is really worth obtaining 3 lvls of Bard for.

Sword Bard 8 / Fighter 2 / War Cleric 1 / Wizard 1 (the wizard level is optional, can instead go sword bard 9) is the best single target damage per round in the game.

Just saying so does nothing. Prove it.

People make big claims all the time, and what I find is that there are tradeoffs and alternatives that are often ignored.

I assume yo go to 8 because of the additional bardic inspiration, but in your build it looks like you have forsaken 2 feats.

Hmm at level 8 you get 2 feats(and an extra inspiration) so I am guessing you only forsake 1... fighter and war cleric for extra attacks I am guessing, which you can expend into slashing flourish double attacks... wizard for learning spells? You could haste yourself for even more attacks...

Can you just accept the concept that its top tier single target damage per round pick in the game? Like I dont know what you want. There's min max guides all over Youtube. Why are you doing this here if you are going to scrutinize what people have to say?

It is broken because you get to attack multiple targets in a turn while also having access to up to level 6 spells.

Collage of swords make non-throwing EKs look bad. They are just better version of EK.

You can get 4 feats with a Rogue/Fighter multi class.

Hasting is best gotten with celestial haste.

I like the war cleric idea.

The build does not seem to maximize crits, which is where an enormous amount of damage can be gotten.

Celestial haste requires not running the best bow in the game so that's off the table.
