As far as I can tell, she seems to be an outlier who is somewhat of an outcast? She thinks Hollyphants are not immune to evil, considering how fluid it is. Good actions from hundreds of years ago may be considered evil, and vice versa. So she thinks they can fall to evil. Despite no evidence being there
So, she seems more like an outcast conspiracy theorist who went to go temporarily live with annoying humans. And I think serve as a plot point for Bhaal where you kill a celestial to gain access
More lore references = more immersion
Plus they play a legit role in the game
He must be sacrificed
dies of cringe
Why so bad
Up to that point the game has been quite serious in tone. Then all of a sudden when you enter Act III, there are ghouls for clowns, and flying mini-elephants for detectives. It just turns into some kind of silly cartoon. It's stretching it too far and too abrupt of a tonal change.
Having undead dressed as clowns on the streets of a major city would prompt a response from many temples and the Flaming Fist. But the devs threw logic out the window because they thought it would be funny and we are now in cartoon style. People don't react to these oddities or monsters in any way.
Same with Mizora, casually flapping her devil wings on the street. No one cares. It's like the devs had some development fatigue at this point and nothing mattered anymore. Or Gortash announcing his secret evil master plan to the party when there's a big audience sitting right next to him. Or vampires chilling at a bar during bright and sunny daytime. Things just fell apart in the beginning of Act III.
So I also have an issue with how BG3 is all over the place in terms of style and tone. It's trying to be horror, comedy, cartoon and mature drama at the same time. And it's a bit of a mess. Direction or vision isn't clear at all here.
yes now that you mention it, those things all seemed strange to me too but it was too subtle for me to consciously care. The flying little elephant was a major one though but the talking cats with their own entire personalities was also strange. I mean I get that it's probably possible but they really went overboard with giving them all unique sarcastic personalities.
Act 3 was strange overall, it sets itself up as if you can play these villains against each other but that's not really how it works out. You just go and kill them one after another and the game pretends like you are doing some masterful chess moves.
