It has everything any turn based game has + the D&D rules, so I don't get your point. You don't seem to like turn based games, and that's your whole argument.
I'm sure other games do it better for you, go play 'em. Give them some love. Enjoy things in your life. Less hatey watey spaghetti.
You think they made it from scratch? There are lots of games just like this with well thought-out combat systems. This isn't an argument at all.
Right, it's not like any of this has been done for decades or anything...
I would bet every penny in my bank account that you couldn't develop any combat system at all, hungover or otherwise.
