Oh, that's awesome.
Basically, it means Larian is reverting some of their homebrew power creep.
Neat!
Perilous strikes only affect allies
Mind sanctuary only hastes characters inside instead of making bonus actions into actions and vice versa.
Pact of the blade doesn’t stack with multi atack.
That’s about it and bosses can’t be knocked back into oblivion and be one shotted this way
Yep and from that list you can't double or triple dip damage bonuses that I had no idea was possible before lol... that's how some folks were doing hundreds of damage...
*sigh*
There's, like, three specific aspects that the 5E DMG explicitly cautions DMs about screwing around with:
* Action economy
* Attunement
* Concentration
And BG3 mucks around with all of them. They mucked with concentration less than the others, but merely going prone isn't supposed to break concentration by itself. And indirectly they made it less of a limit, by letting everybody cast concentration spells from spell scrolls (outside of, say, rage).
i love you so much. thank you. i went to the far corners of the internet but they couldnt give me the information that you have, thank you
um... okay...
I think some great lessons were learned that could be applied to the Divinity series in the future, but I am ready for Larian to go back to working on a rulset they fully understand and respect, instead of one they are frequently at odds with. It is simply not possible to make a balanced game when you're fighting the ruleset.
