According to bhaal's plan in the BG3 wiki, his plan was to kill all life including eventually his own followers, I understand he is a mad god but wouldn't the end result effectively eliminate his own power? If there's no one left alive no one will worship him and there will be no more murder, do you think he just doesn't care due to insanity or does he not realize.

He probably hopes to achieve some kind of apotheosis trough this and be bigger than Lord Ao and other gods.
