All forced long rests
I remember there is a forced rest at the end of mountain pass. What other forced rests are there? And have anyone done any testing as to what triggers it and if there is any way to avoid them?

Sounds like you never experienced that forced rest. Otherwise you would know it is story related and can be easily bypassed by taking another route or, as a matter of course, eliminating the story components related to that rest.

There's the one between Acts 2 and 3

There is a forced long rest at the transition between Act2 and Act 3.

So between each act sort of.

You could consider it "long travel time"

avoid them why..

Destroying the grove with the goblins and talking to Minthara to finish the quest triggers the party immediately after which you leave via resting. I dont believe you can teleport out before finishing the party, but i havent tried tbh

Maybe they want to do a no long rest challenge or something

You could say leaving the nautiloid and landing on the beach is a forced long rest. At least it has all the same effects of a long rest.

Not possible. You have to rest to advance the game. Many of the game events happen then .Not to mention no way are you going to get through this game on your starting HPs.

So far I'm in A3 and I've only had 3 long rests. 1 going into the Mountain, 2 rests going from A2-A3. Only non-hireling is Astarion.

I don't think they can be avoided, but maybe just make your party members back the way they were before resting? Waste spell slots on something?

Not to mention you will not refresh spells or get any more new spells without Long rests.

This just isn't factual or true at all.

for me, this is actually a flaw in the design of the game.

There are some very useful buffs which lasts until long rest, like the 1d6 to basically any D20 from spores, bless from the guardian in the githyanki monastery. 1d4 radiant damage to all attacks also in monastery, and some more.

for what I've experienced, changing zones between Wilderness (act1), Rosymorn Monastery (also act 1), and Act 2, no matters if you are going forwards, or backwards, or any of the possible paths, if you have "pending" night events, you're forced to rest when you want to change zones. So those would be events like Guardian talking to you at night, Wyll becoming a demon, Voss visiting you in the camp, etc.
BUT, if you have every night event (so far) executed, you are free to move trough those zones.

changing from act 2 to 3 always triggers a forced rest, then you can't come back, and as far as I know, there is no more forced rests during act 3.

So I'm ok with a forced rest from act 2 to 3 which will clean any buff you have, but the way it works between the first 3 zones it's just wrong, if you want to be able to use the buffs I've mentioned from act 1 in act 2, you have to carefully plan how to trigger all events before getting the buffs, so then you can travel between zones while keeping them, which is very annoying, mostly in honor mode.

Also, there is a warning letting you know you're going to change zones, but it doesn't let you know if you'll be forced to rest.

At least you should have the option of not using any camp supply, and not getting the benefits from rest, neither lose your buffs, because you actually didn't rest.
