So who's cheating through Honor Mode and who's doing it 100% legit?
I'll be honest; I like the idea of more challenging bosses, LIMITED saving, tweaks to some overpowered builds and the achievement/dice that confirms I'm better than most everyone else. ;)

I'm not a fan of the fact that one of the bosses many new, completely out of nowhere, party wipe mechanics will end your honor mode run entirely, though.

Honor Mode is technically my first complete playthrough as well, so, I'll be keeping a backup save on the cloud and force crashing the game if necessary to salvage the run.

So, who's going completely legit and who's going to give themselves at least some way to reload?

I'll wait until 2.0. comes around.

I share the same feelings.

I'll give it 2 good tries but not now.

Another IQ20 can't read enemy's stats. Don't play Honour mode, since you have none, casul :bonfire2:
As someone with ADHD who tends to get distracted easily and is prone to mistakes due to lapses in concentration I really don't enjoy ironman mode. And while I most of the time just enjoy casually playing my games without worrying about "balance" or having a challenge, I still appreciate the additional difficulty options honor mode offers except ironman. In fact I just started a game in honor mode with a mod that allows free saving, and it's been refreshing so far.

I'll play it normally, but I will wait until the bugs have been ironed out.

Eh, trial and error to figure out builds/strategies to deal with new bosses and mechanics is the entire point of games like this. Also, you can't examine the boss until the fight starts, and once that happens you're locked into your current party composition and loadouts.

The people who aren't finding ways to reload and experiment with the new fights are likely just copying the builds and strategies of people who did anyways, so not particularly honorable. ;)

I'll enjoy all the added challenge and flaunt my achievement/dice, but games like this just aren't a good fit for ironman IMO.

I've tried as implemented but sadly have run into issues which I kind of expected from an ironman mode on a complex game. So I'm going to be playing with the mod which lets you reload just so I don't get bitten by some of the quirks of the game. If I wipe, I'll start again, just don't force Laezel to be the group's face because she's pathed closest to an unseen NPC.

I legit slaughtered my way through Honor mode with zero issues.

Act 3 was a joke , zero problems with any boss, act 2 the same, gutted myrkil in 1 turn before he could make a move and his special action didn’t do much lol.

I welcome Honour Mode with ironman. Especially the sudden possibilities of wipes due to being reckless by relying too much on memories is utmost refreshing and gives the game new enjoyable twists. Once more the actions and decisions I make are with meaningful consequences from start to end.

Why do you care OP?

I did DOS2 Honour Mode legitimately so will be doing it here as well.

I only play them for the achievement though as they're not really challenging, which provides me an opportunity to experience a fully evil playthrough in Larian's games because of the one save thingy.

So because of this I just let the story derail as much as I can on Honour modes to achieve the most sadistically evil outcomes :steamhappy:

Why does anyone care enough to make a discussion thread on the forum of a game they're playing?

I've made it past the spider boss and owlbear without any issues; those are the only 2 new bosses I've done so far. I did crash the game and reload on the Harpy fight because the stupid kid died, mainly to see if it would work, and I was able to reload.

I'm mainly worried about Act 3 since I've never actually played through it yet, and certain fights like the Gith patrol and Gyrm that can instant wipe you if you have bad luck.

If i do get around to playing Honor mode.. I'll be very honorable.. indeed.. like i was in EUIV ironman, where I would never, ever, cheat by crashing the game anytime i got a hunting accident with my 6/6/6 ruler.. I would never do that. I'm too honorable to do such a disgraceful thing.
