Dragonflame red = Digital Deluxe
Behir Blue = Base Game
Ilithid Purple = Physical Collectors edition
Behir Blue was originally not part of the Base Game, but got unlocked by accident for some, so Larian eventually just gave it to everyone
As long as you do not build dice houses during the game session or throw them at the DM to determine the throw damage, it is fine. Probably.
However I have a full metal dice for self defense, just in case...also get's the attention of all my players, because it's so friggin loud when I roll it...xD
To be straightforward: I figured so much about you DMing.
Most players nowadays have a tendency to spend as little money as possible on D&D books and dice, as if they expect that the DM buys them all and they "can borrow it indefinitely".
Full metal dice... that is some luxury. I saw some dice the other day ranging from 60 EUD to 250 EUD... a full metal dice as throwing weapon is actually a funny idea as legendary item. Can be used once per long rest and deals 1d20 damage.
And the metal dice wasn't even that expensive...something like 20-25€ range. It's more for decoration and not that high quality, but yeah, you can definitely spend some serious money on dice...though I'm usually more in the budget section, there are nice looking dice available for cheap, and most the time I go for quantity over quality...why 1 really nice looking, when you can have multiple still nice looking ones for the same price :P
multiple colours is awesome to work with magical items. Rolling the normal damage dice plus e.g. a green one for poison damage or yellow for radiant damage can add some visual on a smaller table. Especially with younger players it makes the game more approachable where everyone is giddy to actually see "what did you roll?"
