Is this the best RPG ever made?
The scope, the length, the quality of the animations and models, the music. Could this be the contender for the best RPG ever made? what could rival it?

Uhm, Baldurs Gate 2? The 2 Pathfinder Games, The Witcher 3, maybe Never Winter Nights 2.

Eye of the Beholder from 1991 ... if you are an old fart.

It's well made and fun but nah. I still think old school Gothic has it beat

Only if you're the kind of person who sits around reading monster manuals all day.

Pathfinder games rival BG3 easily.

Divinity original sin 2 was better imo

Much more satisfying build making and gameplay without rng to prolong fights unnecessarily. Melee classes were also significantly more fun to play and had actual skills.

Story wise it wasn't that good but the animations and models were great i'll give you that.

DND only holds games back tbh it's much better when devs take the freedom to do their own thing or are only inspired by it instead of trying to be as accurate as possible

DOS2 isn't even better than DOS1 lmao.

It depends entirely on your taste in RPGs, or games in general. It's a well-made RPG, no doubt about that.

The things you mention are part of all genres. While BG3 has these, it lacks a lot of what would typically be found in a cRPG. The plot is quite superficial and the pacing is all over the place, going from an absurd high (jumping through the planes on a spelljammer) to wandering around an island at level 2. The villains are straight out of a Saturday morning cartoon show, lacking much in terms of depth and critically missing any presence or connection to the player. You move from area to area without having much to actually care about or context to ground what you are doing. On top of all of this, you are explicitly told to avoid playing the real story (Durge) by the developers, which is one of the most bizarre narrative decisions I have ever seen.

There similarly does not seem to be any motivation for the characters to be or work together apart from the story not happening if they do not. The NPCs are not terribly well written with most of the work being done by the talented voice actors, but an RPG character should be interesting because of the writing. You may even miss out on a lot of the character interaction because so many key events are tied to long rests, which the game suggests should be used sparingly and you may need to rest multiple times to see the most important ones.

They only added a real ending a few days ago so before that the game just sort of...ends.

As a game, it definitely has its strong suits, but as an RPG it is quite weak.

Not even close, not for me...even D:OS2 is better and I wouldn't place it amongst my top 10.
It is, though, one really good game that I'm now going through for the 2nd time...

It's an unproductive question, since the answer is entirely subjective. It's a great game, it doesn't need to be "the best ever"

The only people BG 3 could be the best RPG for might be 16 years olds for whom BG 3 is their first RPG. Games like Ultima Underworld I+II, Deus Ex (the original one), Fallout 1+2, BG 2 or DA:O were defining the genre and played in a different league. While being a good game, BG 3 has done not a single thing in an innovative way - but lots of things in latently sloggish and unfinished ways.
