You should deal with Nightsong last, when you are ready to face the end boss in Moonrise. However, go to moonrise and do everything else there before, too.

once you enter the area where Nightsong is, pretty much every unfinished quest in Act 2 is unable to be completed. so do everything you want to do in Act 2 before you save Nightsong.

PS - looking for guides online regarding this game can be an exercise in futility, as the web seems to be quite littered with nonsense, AI generated or written by journalists who are so unfamiliar with the genre, they really aren't up to the task.

There is no choice to be made here because Nightsong is the final phase of ACT 2 and you can't get to Ketheric anyway until you do that part of the story.

So it should be done once everything else is done.

As said above, entering the pool (the Shadowfell) that leads to the Nightsong triggers the ending sequence of the act. It is possible to fully explore the dungeon (the Gauntlet of Shar), infiltrate the Moonrise Towers, and slaughter everything but Thorm within before doing so. It also looks out the Act 1 areas.

Yes, except Zevlor and Zariel's asset, which are accessible only after the point of no-return. Which is confusing, since most of the prisoners can be rescued after you first enter the Towers (would recommend to kill the prison guards one by one, starting with the scrying eyes).
