What are ways to save scum in honor mode?
Does a simple alt f4 work or do you have to actually restart your pc?

Also, does making a backup save work?

Anyway, I'm not here to discuss morality of this. I want the achievement, and I want the honor mode difficulty, but I don't want to have to restart the playthrough because of one mistake in act 3.

The whole point of honor mode is to avoid save scumming. Otherwise you can set up a custom game that has the difficulty but allows saves.
Just had to reload an older save because the game deleted my Tav.

Make a backup, turn off cloud saving, exit to menu. Delete new save, copy old save back in.

I didn't read through everything, so someone may have said already.

Alt F4 and killing via task manager both save the game at the point where you do it. Forced Restart of your PC reverts you to the last save prior to restarting.
Luckily I just got it without needing any save scumming. With Minthara as cleric there was no risk or wiping anywhere and I was able to collect all the legendary gear to smoothly destroy the brain.

There's a mod that reenables saving
Mods disable achievements

Not in my experience.

I have more 5e spells, more bags, respec elf cantrip and a few others and I'm still getting achievements.
Maybe choose a different mode, it doesn't sound like Honor mode is for you.
There's no need to virtue signal anyone about Honour mode.
If Larian had added the same mechanics and combat difficulty to the custom mode, no one would need to try and cheat around the one-save system.

The truth is majority of people don't want an achievement or golden Die, they simply want to play with the new mechanics without fear of losing progress. The other half of the people feel like they need to backup their saves in case of a crash or game breaking glitch.

There's also so many ways to just cheese the game even in honour mode, that it should never be indicative of one player's prowess or perseverance. Taking it too serious is even more pathetic

Don't play honour mode? Seems like it defeats the point.

You can't. Legendary actions are locked to the one-save mode.
get gud is the way
It's simple, you don't. You play it as intended to earn the rewards.
You can use the "task manager" to force bg3 to close, that way it will "have a problem" and when you open the game again, it will open in the last save you made and not where you are (assuming you were doing something different from the time of the save)

I agree... and I have my golden dice without cheating, cheese, or exploits. But this game really isn't a hardcore game, it's really all about shts'n'giggles.
