What are ways to save scum in honor mode?

Does a simple alt f4 work or do you have to actually restart your pc?

Also, does making a backup save work?

Anyway, I'm not here to discuss morality of this. I want the achievement, and I want the honor mode difficulty, but I don't want to have to restart the playthrough because of one mistake in act 3.

Kill the process in a way of your choice
Make backups of your save file
Set your save file as read only (unless the game replaces the entire file when updating a save, if it does that method likely won't work)

That second one is the one I'm using and I can confirm it works at least. No idea about the dice reward or anything like that but I wanted the gameplay features so it was a lifesaver.

I'd use
taskkill /f /im bg3_dx11.exe
instead. I read that it sometimes still saves when killed via task manager, or at least tries to.

this is only needed if you plan to solo.
I've been finding pretty hard to get a TPKO when using companions, and i've been roleplaying a very unoptimized build

That happens only if people use the taskmanager wrong, though.

Reminds me of the "elusive targets" in Hitman 2. You could pass a point of no return where you were not allowed to abort the mission and try again. Except Hitman 2 was an always-online game, and if your connection dropped then you were allowed to start over. So one way to get around the no-reload rule was to unplug your modem.
