If you think druid of the spores was useless, then you played it wrong.

You should try it again. Spore druid is really good, might even be the best druid subclass due to the bonus damage that applies to every attack, lots of bonus hp and the fact that you can easily get an army of zombies.

Druid of spores is awesome.
Druid spells are awesome, moonbeam, Spike growth, Wall of Flame...

Then turning into an owlbear of course why not?
And as a spore druid you get good damage on shillelagh + your spore stuff and than your army of undead and summons that can summon.

Druid of Spores has since day 1 been the best druid subclass and by lat game its one of the best sub classes because of its special equipment. Moon is useless you are essentially just making shape shift a bonus action and the healing is useless because healing is useless unless you are already down. Land is alright and still better than moon but spore gets better additions and build variety

When you kill the necromancer and get the special spore armor this thing is a beast. Haste spores practically sell themselves. Depending on how you spec, the armor isn't the best of defenses and can leave you open when not in haste.
