Fair enough players on their first playthough. But there's a gazillion other things that would motivate me to do repeat runs than a dice color change. I couldn't think of anything less inspiring. And the obviously sarcastic motivational blurb for the dice is Larian having a laugh at the rubes who genuinely want it.

You might have a point if it wasn't an entirely new mode

LOL. Yeah, it's the colored dice and not the honour mode. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ clown.

It's just an excuse to play the game again on Tactician with extra handicaps and surprises. That means micromanaging, getting ready for fights and taking it slow will be needed. Also, you get a dice for it.
gotta beat it on honor to get it

I mean there certainly are people who just need to have done everything, sure, but I'd wager most people play a game multiple times, because they enjoy playing the game multiple times. The golden Dice is just a nice additional bonus for having played the game on hardest difficulty...

Wait what's wrong with a cosmetic reward for a harder difficulty ? I mean ♥♥♥♥ at least they're not selling the skin for $9.99 or something

I know bgs would...though they would label it "minimod" and not dlc and put it in their creation club...

games like this are designed to play multiple times.

off the top of my head I can see 6 playthroughs minimum for someone wanting to get the most out of the game.

normal (first time)
tactician + dark urge (possible 2nd playthrough with different story
pacifist run (maybe just to try or for a genuine challenge)
random run to try being the morally opposite to first run (evil or good)
honor mode (to unlock the gold dice and truly challenge your skill and knowledge of the game)
possible co-op playthrough with a friend or 3 for fun

if you only run through this game once its either because you didnt really like it that much, are too busy, or just dont typically get the most out of games.

To me the main draw of Honor Mode is the additional boss fight mechanics, if I ever get to finish it and get the dice fine, if not, whatever.. I am still using the basic dice. xD

*looks at 10 different ongoing campaigns still in Act 1*

Yep, yes, absolutely, 6 runs, that sounds about right... :/

Yes I'm sure there are plenty of 'completionists' here who will finish the game with each penis option.

Quests wise the game probably has about 2 replays. If they allowed fully customised parties then the replayability would be endless - and that would be worth doing honor mode runs for. But having to sit through the endless companion drivel, bickering, complaining all over again for (let's be real here) basic plain dice color ? No thanks.
How to tell everyone you still have no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idea what honour mode is without saying "I'm pretty stupid".

I mean...you can just not recruit the companions or kill them off and get hirelings from withers....

you seem to not understand honor mode rehauls boss fights and is a "very hard" difficulty even harder than tactician.

and there are many different ways to deal with questlines. not to mention most things are optional. you can skip most dialogue silly.

people will spend thousands of hours going after an achievement, which has even less value then a cosmetic.

this isn't a new thing, really.

it probably only plays a small part in the overall reason: yes people like a reward, but people also like the value of completing something that take effort, like a higher difficulty

its a bit weird how you don't notice how clearly the quote is a bit, either

I have certainly done that in WoW.
