Honor Mode vs Custom mode

I already have one question
I would like to play Honor mode because the difficulty is higher now but without permadeath

so i was wondering if on Custom mode now, if you set up all settings on tactician without permadeath, is it the same difficulty as Honor mode ?

I mean, Boss extra skills etc... ?

Short answer No.

The Honour ruleset exists, but it's not available to use in Custom Mode before starting a game for some reason, so you can't start a Custom mode with the Honour ruleset.

If you start a game in Honour mode, you can play in Honor difficulty and continue in that difficulty even if you die, but you are forced to play in Ironman mode (Single Save File) too as that can't be changed after a game has started.

What the OP and many of us want is to play with the Honor ruleset but without the single save file restriction. Obviously this should not entitle for the Honor achievement.

No it's not. Developers can add new achievements any time.

Short answer No.

Guys if you wanna really cheese it with mods i mean, just cheese it by reloading the game if you're in a losing fight. whats the deal?

If I understand the continue-after-honor-mode thing...
A workaround could be starting Honour Mode, dying, continuing with same ruleset but now as custom.

its locked to single save mode so reloading doesnt work.

Incorrect its locked in single save mode if you try that

Get in the game.
Start honour mode.
Get into a fight.
In the middle of the fight close the game
Load your last save again.

I hope the step by step on the most basic cheese of half implemented ironman modes helps ya. Cheers

I mean if lying on steam forums makes you feel better go for it. but for future readers of the thread, what he posted does not work.

I mean you can also set your saves to read only in the explorer. or copyin your saves from the folder.
Though it's probably pretty annoying to do that by hand, tabbing out of the game, but you could probably set up some automation to do that for you, if you really wanted...
