Game is frustrating
Before any of the pretending to sound smart people start commenting stuff like ,,define woke'' etc hear this out:

as a gamer who comes from games like skyrim, witcher 3, kingdom come deliverance, and world of warcrafts many expansions endgame player i find baldurs gate 3 frustrating and a bit disturbing at times.

The difficulty:
Playing on balanced seem to be too easy at some fights and way too hard at other fights. at level 3 i talked to auntie ethel and went to her cabin to fight her in the caves below and i had to turn down difficulty to explorer in the few enemies with masks fight before the actual hag boss fight, and the boss fight itself was pretty challenging on explorer. but then i read that you are not even suppose to fight her until level 4 and higher, but how am i suppose to know that its too early to fight her ?

Weak Gale:
picked up Gale as a companion right away but in most fights he feels weak and dies first, his elemental abilities lack damage (even when i leveled gale to same level as me which is 3).

Uncomfortable romance:
Even if i find it a bit funny i still find it a uncomfortable that most male npcs in this game are ga* and tries to romance me. I thought gale was a super friendly wizard (atleast at first).
Also the romance parts feel really pushed on me even if i choose dialog options to not romance. Even angry joe who gave this game a 10 out of 10 mentioned that romance is a downside of this game. This aspect of the game is so bad that there is even a mod on nexus that disables companion reactions to your actions and that way your companions will not try to romance you
here is a comment from people who installed that mod :
,,Thank you for making this mod one of the worst things in this game was being hit on by my male companions constantly I just wanted to build my friendship with them and do their content but instead the game forces me to endure being hit on by a gang of hom**euals every 2 minutes which I am sorry is really uncomfortable and awkward. The game forces me to either be rude to them or embrace being ga* and that isn't really something I appreciate.''

And lastly the community:
Most of the comments i see on bg3 discussions in steam are people calling people who dont like woke stuff in bg3 ho*ophobic disrespetfull terrible human beigns.
If a person was raised in a traditional family and does not feel comfortable being surrounded by other se*uality npcs in a video game he is not a terrible human being like most of you say.

anyways my opinion on the game may still change because im only 17 hours in.

On the community thing, if you really want a Tue community for games steams is the wrong place that is reddit and the corps own forums. Steam is and always will be the trash of gaming forums and awards made trolling and things 10 times worse no offense

Sorry for typos and errors

Yeah the community can be really insufferable sometimes. As for the difficulty there is a learning curve with Larian games. Level up and come back.

Correction: you are frustrated by the game.

yeah, i managed to kill the hag at level 3 tho, but the game really could have a level recommendation for every ,,harder'' quest

The romance options are 100% gender neutral and optional. It's not complicated or difficult to understand why this is the way it is; you the player have the freedom to choose.

Nope enhanced edition will be literally unplayable to him and there's no way someone this easily frustrated has the patience to set up the old one + mods for a modern PC.

so much for a freedom to choose when they keep hitting on me even if i reject them, every time i go to sleep in camp i fear astarion or gale will wake me up standing naked near me

Difficulty
The game isn’t difficult provided you pay attention and prepare. I’m not meaning to be rude, but that’s just how it is. You can right click and examine enemies to get an idea how powerful they are, and you have the option to run away from fights if you’re struggling. For bosses like Auntie Ethel, the level of hassle you go through just to reach the proper battle with her should be an indication that she’s not an opponent you want to rush into fighting. Also you should have run across a book that talks about how powerful Hags are, so if you’re ignoring the books and the info they can give, I’m afraid that’s on you.

Weak Gale
Gale is a wizard. They are squishy. You need to protect them and be careful how you build them until they reach lvl 5-6 and they they start kicking out serious damage and powerful AoE. That’s just how wizards are in D&D. You can offset that a bit by giving him a few levels dip into a class that has better HP per level and armour proficiency.

Romance
The romance options for the npcs are designed to ensure that the player can romance whichever character they wish, regardless of the player characters gender identity. The corollary of this is that the npcs will flirt with your character regardless of your character’s gender identity.
You can still tell them no. And still decide to not romance them. You just have to tell them you’re not interested and don’t progress any romantic dialogue with them.
Even in rl sometimes you have to deal with people hitting on you when you’re not interested. And in those cases yes you might have to feel like a Ahole when turning them down. It happens.
