New Game Bug?
I downloaded mods and they didn't work so I uninstalled them. When I try to start a new game I'm in this realm of naked men and the dark urge and can't do anything. I've uninstalled the game and re-installed it and I have no mods. I even loaded an old game and I can't talk to anyone in it even if I right click and press "talk". Nothing happens

I bet you just didn't remove all mods properly. There are some remains in different folders.

You are on point with that.

Read the instructions of the mods properly.

Step one (as has been pointed out to me) is to start a brand new campaign (you won't lose the old one or the saves) and see if the issues are still there.
I've done that. That's the whole thing. I can't start a new campaign

It's impossible to say in general. Any mod developer can make anything he can imagine in the borders of given permissions.

Ok. Since you started a new campaign and the issues persist, even after a fresh install, then it is likely that you missed deleting the one folder that is needing to be deleted.

* Uninstall
* Delete the "Larian Studios" folder (after copying out your save files) that is located in AppData\local directory.
* Install
* Copy your save files back in (they may no longer work) or just start a fresh campaign

Let me know if you need to know where the Larian Studios folder is exactly (it is not in Steam\Common).

I can't find the Larian Studios folder. I don't have anything on my local disk that references that or BG3

Something like
\Users\Your_Name_Here\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3

Here is the full path to the Saves location:

C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles\Public\Savegames\Story

Enter %AppData% into your Explorer address bar. It will put you into the Roaming directory, so bounce up one level and then you can path down through Local. :)

After copying your saves out and uninstalling, it is the entire Larian Studios directory you want to delete.

That worked! Thank you so much!

My pleasure. :)

Also, be sure to disable Cloud Saves and limit your Autosaves and Quicksaves. They can pile up quickly and are very large.

I am confused. I don't have the path you mention and for some reason appdata is hidden. My BG3 game is in C\ program files [x86] / steam ... for some reason i can not change the file download to the one you show. Doing another reinstall. I have found bits of files and folders for BG3 in different places .. odd.
Anyway, hoping this works as i keep getting odd flashing coloured lights in my BG3 game screen, so i can not see any in game actions. Oddly my game worked smoothly all through early Access and up until late October .. since then odd fragments .. artifacts.

Any suggestions would be wonderful thanks.

Put %AppData% into your explorer Address Bar. This will take you to AppData\Roaming directory. Bounce up one directory and then you can access the Local one.

AppData is one of those Hidden Directory / Hidden Files locations. You can see it if you enable the ability in the Explorer View Options/Settings. Or can just go there directly using the %AppData% address shortcut. :)

The 'Larian Studios' folder is not related to the Steam part of the installation. It exists solely as part of the BG3 runtime and is NOT deleted when the game is uninstalled.
