why would people pay 60$ for this game ?
why would people pay 60$ for this game ? when in CD keys shops game costs around 20-25$ but its a new steam account you are buying with the game in it. i guess to add the game to their big steam library for other people to see but is it worth paying 40$ more ? i dont think so, and switching between 2 steam accounts is super easy.

To be fair I paid more for Hogwarts Legacy. Best 80 bucks I ever spent out of spite.

To support the devs for their hard work? Because they don't want their key revoked for violating Steam's ToS?

If you're going to buy a grey market copy of the game, you may as well just pirate it for free. Cut out the scumbag middle man who is absorbing all of the money the devs rightfully deserve, and no risk of Steam revoking your key.

isnt buyng a steam account on cd key sites perfectly legal ?
Because I want to fully support the devs who made one of my favorite games this year and for quite some years, in the hopes to get more games like this?
Also 60€ isn't that much for a game...a pack of butter is almost 3 times as expensive as it was 20 years ago. Games barely changed in price at all in the lest 20-30 years....games are dirty cheap nowadays compared to the price development of many, many, many other products.

60$ or € is not much for a game that offers hundreds of hours of entertainment. I happily pay this to support the developers.

Legal? Yes. It's also legal for Steam to revoke your licenses for violating their ToS, which buying an account does.

legal and against the eula are two different things...and if you go against the eula it might be perfectly legal for steam to suspend your bought account....
That said I dunno, I haven't looked into it, I don't care for that enough...

Here's what happens when more people think like that:
The devs get less money, less good devs get attracted to the job and the quality sinks. If nobody pays no games get made. easy as that.
Apart from the rampant malware threat accompanying pirated products etc.
You do whatever you want, however you might wanna look into the steam forums tos.
Promoting piracy is a bannable offense.

Not everyone wants to be a thief. If we want more good games in the future we need to support our fellow developers.
