You can just make them go away and free her after they are gone.

I kill her regardless. She betrays you at every turn.

She usually dies on the ship in my game.

I killed her

I oddly find her to be one of the most loyal but then again tend to do questionable things in m7 playhtough, there is no way to avoid someone not dying due to the cage, so unless you want to meta stuff just avoid that encounter and head right for the grove like a good person

You also could say the other devil kin are being bad in that case , since they are clearly being racist in that scene and the gith did help you on the ship

Gith are rare and they are basing things off if what a friend said never having seen or interacted with one themselves before so they trapped and caged her based on a friend's encounter

thats when you pull out the trick some call "save scumming"

The githyanki are interdimensional raiders who see the other races as potential slaves. The only positive about them is that they would attack the illithid first.

Regarding the skill checks, for everything in the 10-15 range, reloading might be the preferable option. Though, getting one of the companions or the PC to gain proficiency in the skills is beneficial as well, especially considering that there are 21-30 DC later on.

As for Lae'zel specifically, she is relatively easy to keep in the party - only one completely unavoidable battle and no explicitly Evil actions required. Though, a hireling fighter would provide the same level of combat expertise if this is a concern. Additionally, there's a Good-aligned Barbarian tiefling companion.

I would do that aswell but maybe OP wants to let the story happen.
Then again, if he/she really did, this thread wouldn't exist in the first place.

BTW OP, Lae'zel is ok. Can be an annoying piece of ♥♥♥♥♥ at times but she is indeed a loyal companion. Just blinded by Gith faith/indoctrination.

Which changes down the road she really does have a good arc not gonna to spoil it though, plus some of the gith align gear is great that she can make full use of without tricks

1. Not all tieflings are evil.
2. You can do a deception check to have the tieflings leave, so you can shoot lae'zel out of the cage freely

Lae'zel makes an excellent fighter. Sure, she's a weird zealot. But boy can she kill things. Especially later on when you find items that give bonuses if equipped by Githyanki. She is always a solid fighter in my game. But that's the beauty of BG3. You can make any character into any class you want. So if you don't like Lae'zel, you can tell Gale to stop studying his nerdy book crap and pick up a blade :humiliation:

But OP it really depends on how much you want to meta or role-play with this choice in the end

i decided not to free her because she is really annoying with her temper.
