Killed Shadowheart, why can't I become Shar's Chosen?
So I sacrificed Shadowheart to BOOAL cause she was annoying and then I got to the Nightsong and it gives me the options to stab her with the spear and so I do and... I can't killed her cause I'm supposed to use Shadowheart? This severely limits my options with the Nightsong and seems like I should be able to takes Shadowhearts place and become Shar's chosen. Also Shar should probably react in some way to me having killed Shadowheart since it has put a damper on her entire plan with her parents and all that.

You must be strong now... You are simply not worthy in the eyes of Shar.

Get a load of this try-hard over here.

you're not god's favorite princess after all
Larian does not want you to play with any characters except their Origin characters.
I mean, from a lore perspective, why would Baal let any other god touch you since you're his? You can't have it all if your all is literally just murdering for your daddy.

You can play a custom character that's not the Dark Urge, but also wouldn't that be an interesting twist to defy Bhaal for Shar?

No.

It seems that Larian didn't give due importance to player-created characters and that's very sad, at least for me who don't like playing with pre-made characters in games, it totally ruins my immersion.
For example, my Drow servant of Lolth should be punished for trying to serve another deity, because Lolth does not allow him to abandon his cult. But this was to be expected because electronic RPG games are extremely limited compared to tabletop RPGs, I hope that one day developers will be able to fully bring the tabletop RPG experience to electronic games.

With AI on the rise, it probably won't be long before game worlds or Npcs can truly react to player actions. From a player's perspective, that would be cool and could give everyone a truly unique experience, but there's this little voice deep inside me that's worried at the same time that this day may come.

OP is expecting too much, the story isnt written for it. You are trying to coopt Shadowheart's story. Play her as origin.

Tbh, I find it difficult to play Fiend Warlocks that isnt Wyll, because they do not get a special experience like he does with true patron interactions.

Yeah, you'd basically roleplay Thorm in trading gods all the time, but I guess they didn't figure someonw would try to become Shadowheart with a custom character... this is basically her specific quest chain.

Having a game where all your decisions reflect on the world is a challenge for this next generation of games. Imagine a world where you will have complete freedom to decide your own story, have your own castle, have your own army... an infinite path through the search for power, riches, choosing the side of darkness or light, defying gods or simply Be a humble gnome wizard selling magical items in a small forest village. With Baldurs Gate 3 Larian paved the way for this, but the distance to go is still long.

Then Shar should at least acknowledge that I killed her Chosen and that should count for something. Similar to Bhaal choosing you when you killed Orin.
