You can play a custom character that's not the Dark Urge, but also wouldn't that be an interesting twist to defy Bhaal for Shar?
No.
For example, my Drow servant of Lolth should be punished for trying to serve another deity, because Lolth does not allow him to abandon his cult. But this was to be expected because electronic RPG games are extremely limited compared to tabletop RPGs, I hope that one day developers will be able to fully bring the tabletop RPG experience to electronic games.
Tbh, I find it difficult to play Fiend Warlocks that isnt Wyll, because they do not get a special experience like he does with true patron interactions.
Yeah, you'd basically roleplay Thorm in trading gods all the time, but I guess they didn't figure someonw would try to become Shadowheart with a custom character... this is basically her specific quest chain.
Having a game where all your decisions reflect on the world is a challenge for this next generation of games. Imagine a world where you will have complete freedom to decide your own story, have your own castle, have your own army... an infinite path through the search for power, riches, choosing the side of darkness or light, defying gods or simply Be a humble gnome wizard selling magical items in a small forest village. With Baldurs Gate 3 Larian paved the way for this, but the distance to go is still long.
By the way, I would like to add that I really liked your vintage hurloon minotaur avatar image
Then Shar should at least acknowledge that I killed her Chosen and that should count for something. Similar to Bhaal choosing you when you killed Orin.
