Let us respec Oathbreakers please
I get it that you don't want people to change their broken oaths easily since it defeats the point of a Paladin, but I don't want to change my broken oath.

What I want:
- Talk to Withers or Oathbreaker, pay gold -> progress through levelup stcreens starting at level 1.

What you currently need to do:
- Talk to the Oathbreaker NPC and pay 1000g
- Talk to withers and pay 100g
- Break your oath again

For a game where every other subclass can change their build for just 100g, I don't see why the process for oathbreakers has to be so convoluted.

Frankly I never tried it, what happens if you just talk to withers to change your class?

I think they should either remove oaths in general or make pathbreaking permanent and once you break it you can ever be anything different.

It’s pointless to swear an oath to something when you can just respec or even buy yourself back for some pitiful sum.

I usually have almost 10 000 gold by the time I finish act 1 so the 1000g is already trivial even in act 1 let alone the other acts where I end the game with 40 000-50 000 g on average without even trying hard

Gee it's almost as if oathbreaker is a special situation for a specific class being penalized for breaking the rules that entire class is based upon or something...

Clerics can change their domain and God, Warlocks can change their patron and gifts, among other things. Restoring an oath should not affect whether you are able to change stats or feats.
I'd give you a clown award if I could.

Um why not just become a pally warlock? I mean that's all you are getting is warlock spells..

Oaths is fine, there has to be consequences for breaking it. You need to atone if you want to change.

No. You have to pay the price for breaking the oath.

Paladins is all about upholding a code and being a moral paragon.

Correct.

OP isn't asking to unbreak their oath or switch class, they just want to pick different stuff on level up as far as I can tell.

Don'y pick Paladin if you don't want to play a paladin? Pretty simple fix mate.
I don't care about the oath and roleplay consequences of being a Paladin.
This is about wanting to be an Oathbreaker subclass while still able to change your stats and feats. Other paladins can change their oath whenever they feel like it, and you can easily game around not breaking oaths even when making decisions that would break it otherwise. The 1100g are hardly a consequence when you can pickpocket 3000 gold from a single vendor every day.

It makes no sense from a roleplay or lore perspective to break your oath for a good reason and then flipflop on whether you really want it back or you don't just because you might want to try using different stats or feats. From a gameplay perspective it's just needlessly convoluted when you could simply ask the Oathbreaker NPC if you can restart your paladin levels for 100 or 1000g without restoring your oath.

What eould be the goal of Oathbreakers if you could respec them at will? You make a character based on faith, you break that faith, you're stuck as an oathbraker, soudfs totally legit to me.
