How do I trigger it?

I've not tried a Long Rest but Ive ended the day numerous times and am on good terms with the guy who is setting it up

*thinks* did you start the quest for discovering the murder at the open hand temple in rivington? Thats pretty much the prequel for that questline part with the winetasting, as you chase the murderer. and discovering his flophouse that leads you into Baldurs gate city proper.
