You don’t need to kill him.
Hes angry that a fictional character is flirting with his fictional character.
So he kills someone in a video game. Hes super manly.
its obvious bait, which is why it takes nothing to point out they did it to themselves and got mad about it.
My problem with that "let me show you magic" scene is that I don't have a choice how it plays out. I never flirted with him or anything, and he never did with me. Then this scene starts, and it looks normal at first, he just casually asks to show something... and this is when my Tav and Gale start to exchange weird looks, exchange weird smiles and etc... it's extremely weird. You can't opt out. Yes, you can decline him in the end. But what the hell? My Tav never expressed any interest in him like that, there was zero build up to that. It's like a bait from Devs to irritate people it seems. You can't just be buds and can't make it awkward as f.
Oh well, anyway, now he is dead. So matter closed anyway.
you, literally, can opt out.
Again, let me reiterate:
1) The scene starts as casual friend to friend talk.
2) Then it lures you to let your Tav (you) acting the way you never agreed to, and there are zero clues about it. I mean the part when the scenes transitions to romantic/flirting from both sides. The tav starts giving these looks, and smiles, just check the facial expressions and etc. There is NO way to opt out of this. It is automatic and there is zero way to know about it in advance.
3) Yes, in the end you decline him. But the whole experience is just terrible, kills immersion, and that's why Gale is always dead in my runs. The game tries to force you with "this", and I, like many other people, dislike being forced to do things that I would never do and/or don't like to do.
and then part way through, if you choose later on you aren't interested, you can say no a second time.
it is very funny to me you think that this is somehow a strange feature of the game, as if you don't have to leave every single conversation in this game in the same manner.
your immersion being killed=/=anything to the conversation, it is your own obligation to handle whatever immerses you, not the game.
much like every other event in this game: your options are yes or no, if you choose yes, you contuine on, you don't suddenly hop out of the conversation.
so, simply put: just pick the no option next time, like in every other dialogue in the game.
I go her, she offers me to get some wine in private and I just go to bed and don’t bother talking to anyone else.
And honestly why would you even want to talk to Gale in general, if he has something to tell you he will have “!” on him, I barely talk to any of the companions in general
