That's what I'd consider is combat prowess.
Of course the range of builds/equipment is wide too. Is this list for starting class, or end game?
Really though, there is little advantage in using these classes alone. They all become more powerful when multiclassed.
They also play differently for different playstyles.
Then Paladin/Fighter/Barb are interchangeable number 2's depending on what stage of the game and what you're fighting.
Actually hits really hard at level 1. Guiding bolt will easily 1-shot most very-early game enemies.
After that, steadily drops off until level 5, when you can cast spirit guardians. That spell only gets better and better and better as you upcast it. That spell by itself can end some really annoying fights. Spiritual weapon (also upcast) + action (spell or weapon) + plus passive aura damage from spirit guardians makes the cleric quite strong in melee.
Nope it's Fighter. Like everyone knows this. What this is, is people playing a popularity contest. It is kinda funny though that in table top Cleric is one of the best but in BG3 it's one of the worst.
The only thing Fighter has over Monk is by the very end levels it has more actions per turn, but it's kind of moot since Open Hand Monk gets 2 attacks with it's bonus action.
Not at all. Cleric is far better with the right spec/gear.
I usually disagree with victorvnv, but in this case he's correct. Monk/Bard are definitely #1.
Not a huge fan of paladin because it's very situational, but by raw numbers it gets pretty stupid (even if you have to rest after every fight).
Barb/cleric I find are the most consistent. They can put out near endlessly, under all sorts of conditions, from lvl 1-12, with a zillion different gear combos.
Ranger is sht till level 11, but volley is so stupidly OP that single skill alone puts him at S tier for end game.
Sorc>lock>wizard only because twin haste is so OP. Outside of the odd gimmick build wizard is pretty lackluster.
Fighter is good, but mostly because 'githyanki' are good. Without all the silly +bonus to gith gear (someone has a hard-on for gith at Larian) they're fairly middle of the road, and get outclassed by monk, bard, and barb.
Druids (apart from spore build) and rogues are at the bottom of the list IMO (at least as pure classes).
Pure classes only, as the friggen sky's the limit when it comes to multi-classing,
Be divided into 3 or 4 game stages, such as:
1st Game Qtr:
2nd Game Qtr:
3rd Game Qtr:
4th Game Qtr:
Fighter would no doubt start out at the top, but by the second quarter of the game, one of the caster classes would take that spot, and a caster would hold #1 for the remainder of the game.
I was surprised how fn strong Paladins are. Smite is ridiculous and they add alot of utility.
You couldn't be more wrong. Sorry. I get you love monk but it's got nothing on Fighter. But I'm sure your take is the valid one here and we can ignore pretty much every tier list that's ever been done.
