And, which loading screen?
Yes, no error message, just the pop up saying the game crashed and to report what happened before the crash. And it's the loading screen right after the Larian icon animation thing at the very beginning of the game launch.
What was the report as to the cause?
I do wish you luck finding someone that might have experienced it and found a fix.
Good Luck
Go to the Launcher screen.
Open up the Launcher Settings menu.
Turn OFF all three of the options under 'General'
Save the Settings changes
Close the Settings.
See if the game will now load.
*Sigh* I sure wish I knew more about what the issue might be. :(
When you did the Uninstall-Reinstall, did you also delete the Larian Studios folder and contents? I don't know where they are located on Mac systems.
Data there is retained between uninstall/install cycles.
There is a file down in that hierarchy named 'ModSettings.lsx'. Try deleting that file (it is recreated when the game starts). It can cause problems if it gets out of sync with the game.
I did the uninstall-reinstall last night and yes deleted the LS folder contents.
I'll try deleting the file and seeing if anything happens, this whole situation is rather frustrating
Edit: no dice :( you'd think there'd be a fix or an acknowledgement of this happening since it seems like many people are having this issue right now
When I say the "Larian Studios" folder, I am not talking about the Steam common folder for BG3. There is a discrete "Larian Studios" folder that is created by the game. That folder is usually tucked away somewhere not related to Steam at all.
