How to get rid of the mucus?

I remember having interacted with the cracked wall in the floor above but don't remember the outcome. I paused playing for about month due to school and cant even remember what the outcome was at the time.

Now, the mucus is still blocking the entrance on the lower floor and I can no longer interact with the crack in the wall upstairs. Well technically I can still "use" it but not in a way that would progress anything.

Not sure how to get rid of the mucus now and the icon for the second battle with Ketheric is exactly on the spot downstairs with the mucus blocking the entrance. I assume I need to find a way to clear the mucus before I can continue the quest of defeating Ketheric.

You get to the battle with Ketheric from the roof. The mucus stays put. There's also a whole gross mucus area in the prison, if you fancy more of it

There is no way of getting rid of the mucus and no need to do so either. To get to Kethrick you go up the stairs.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I wish the icons would show floors/ levels. For some reason I was stuck on thinking I needed to clear the mucus in order to get to the next battle with Ketheric because that is where the icon was showing.

Actually, most do. Look for the small up/down indicator on the icon. That will show if you have to go up or down to reach the target. :)
