Esther and Owlbear Egg
I read somewhere that if we persuade esther to take the egg and tell her the truth, she won't let the egg hatch and no one will die.
Can someone confirm this

Yes. However, I thought only the Gith egg caused problems, Can the owlbear cause havoc too? How do they grow so fast xD

Either way same result. I usually just give the owlbear egg and steal it back, no issues down the road.

I've given it to her twice with nothing happening - everyone in the society was fine in Act 3. In my current game, I apparently ate it, which is .... nice. Anyway, both times I told her it was an owlbear egg, though.

Hmm. All of the guides say giving the owlbear egg causes the same result as giving the githyanki egg, so I never tested it out and just stole back the egg. So if you're saying it doesn't cause a problem. . .then the guides plagiarize each other like mad.

It doesn't, giving the owlbear egg allows everyone to live at the society. You can even sell the Gith egg for 1000 then

I gave her the owlbear egg and convinced her it was a gith egg. Then when I showed up at Baldur's Gate, everyone was just fine. I was confused, because I had heard that should mean they would all be dead.

I have given her the Gith egg too, and when I arrived in town everybody was dead except for a Gith boy (who had killed them all).

This most recent time I was playing as a Cleric of Vlaakith, so when she suggested I procure a Gith egg for her I had the option to say something like "it's going to be enjoyable killing you". I took that option.

I've read so much rubbish about this game online, it's shocking. IDK what's going on as I don't remember reading so many dreadful articles and misinfo about any other game before.

When I talked to the SocBrilliance people in BG, they did say something about "it's too bad about Lady Esther". So maybe selling her the owlbear egg has bad consequences for her? I don't know.

Lady Esther does not seem to ever reappear. Giving her the owl bear is the route to ensure Blurg (and Omeluum) to be in Act 3. You still have to interact with the Blurg/Omeluum in Act 1 to a certain point for this to occur. It might be possible that never encountering Esther this is also true.

Completing Esther's quest in Mountain Passwith the gith egg results as already noted, which I guess the experiment did not result in it's original hypothesis.

The owl bear likely hatched and kill Esther before reachign BG, the gith hatch and slaughter everyone

Want the good end? Give neither

Play as durge, steal the egg, show it to Esther but instead of give it to her choose to throw it in the cliff xd

Nobody dies, we'll besides Esther that will turn hostile, and the gith baby, but noone give anything about it

This is because much of it was published by people after a single run through very early on. I know you are aware already EH!, but will say this for others. Much of the Lower City content is dependent on outcomes in Act 1 and 2. This includes not engaging at all. Some encounters still occur modified while others do not occur at all, at least directly. But the sites for these still remain. This led many people to believe that Act 3 was incomplete for various reasons.

this is actually a problem in the industry of internet news they dont confirm they push a story as fast as they can to get the first clicks and if needed the realease a 2nd statement that says sorry but often dont remove the first story either lol

I am not sure stealing or purchasing either egg will alter the outcome in Act 3 after completing Esther's quest. But, will not say for sure it does not. I have purchased the owlbear egg after completing Esther's quest in one campaign and did not notice a difference from one i did not. Something I have noticed post update 4 is that cost of purchasing quest items that end up in traders inventories has increased significantly.
