This game will be on the first page of search results so damn often when it is totally inappropriate. Search I did just now: My search term was "awakening". BG3 shows up at FOURTH POSITION between all of the games which actually have "awakening" in the title. Some very questionable marketing practices going on here.

1. It's not the steam community that won the award
2. Why would any community be known for being nice to people with an extremely weird fixation on posting negative rants about whatever they are the community of? It's not like you are going to convince anyone who likes the game to not like it, nor do you want anyone to convince you to like it. It's a blanket waste of everyone's time.
3. While the game does show up on typing in "Awakening", I tried a bunch of other words and it did not show up. It's either tagged with that word, or it's just a glitch. There's zero reason for Steam to want to force people to buy this game, but if you think that, might I suggest just not using Steam? Above all, it's better for your mental health to not waste your life hanging around in the forums of things you hate.

Oh and, a couple of seconds of effort yielded:

This is in the game description, and that's why it shows up.

Mystery solved. I hope we can move on now.

Honestly it makes sense, if a game sells Steam thinks you might buy it, and Steam wants you to buy games

Just tested this (searching by relevance) and it does show up at number 4. Presumably because it has 'awakening' in the description. That said, don't agree with the OP's premise.
