Blade is certainly thematic for role-playing him. Tome would be good if you don't already have people that can cast those same spells.
Whatever you choose, mostly any warlock is going to lean very heavily on just spamming eldritch blast anyway. Blade is kind of nice for the case when he ends up in close melee and a ranged spell gets disadvantage.
My main is a melee Paladin. I haven't picked up all the companions yet, so I'm not married to a particular lineup.
Do you know if you can still convert the warlock slots into sorcerer points ever short rest?
