Infernal rapier on a paladin?
Anyone tried the infernal rapier on paladin? I’m about to start a new run and plan to go 6/6 vengeance paladin/Draconic sorcerer. Idea being I start as sorc durge, once a certain point happens and MC realizes resisting urges will not be as easy as saying no, he rerolls as paladin - swearing his oath and sacrificing his inherent power to overcome the evil inside him.

But the power doesn’t disappear, it keeps trickling back (after reroll to paladin I’ll be taking sorc levels again).

So I’ll only get 2 feats and have multiple abilities to keep track of. My tiny pea brain likes to see number get big - so I was thinking about using the rapier as a weapon so I can push points away from str or dex and focus on char, con, with a little extra in wis.

Is there any reason why this would be a bad idea?

Sounds good. Why extra wisdom though?

Just a little extra saving throw protection. Aura of protection should get up to +5 or +6 but failing a wisdom save would mean I’m getting CC’d probably the worst outcome in a fight.

That's true. (learned that the hard way multiple times)

I had Wyll as a classic vengeance Pallylock and he didn't seem to mind using the Infernal Rapier at all.

Why should Wyll mind after all that is the sword for which he gets for doing a certain quest.
