I only need Shadowheart, Astarion and Minthara to be honest , the 2 hottest chicks in the game and the coolest companion in Astarion plus myself.
I don’t even use Gale or Laezel on D urge evil playthrough my 3 favorites are more than enough
Wyll for me is honestly bottom tier companion - better than Halsin, but just cuz he actually has a story line, the most interesting part of which is a different character - Mizora.
So again he is well suited for a D Urge game.
Wyll and Karlach are both goody two shoes and super boring and even if you keep them they aren’t really useful in an evil playthrough. Better to kill Karlach at the start to get the fire shield robe as it’s super powerful in AcT1 then sacrifice Wyll to booal and get a party wide buff that permanently gives advantage to bleeding targets ( in act 3 you get amulet of baaal that makes everyone you hit with full HP to bleed so you can abuse this a lot end game)
And Astarion is great yea he is kinda gay lol but he is evil , ambitious and is super powerful with his vampire skills especially when ascended .
Laezel is great too and will back you as dark urge too.
So really you only lose the most boring characters if you go dark urge but you end up with a party full of ambitious baddies who can kill anyone and none of them will judge you lol
It’s really fun when you always answer in the most evil ways in dialogues and you get approval from your entire party lol
I've been playing them taking from the introduction of the character as they *Don't* want to be a murderhobo (at least not anymore since they have 0 memories) and are fighting the impulse at every opportunity, which has been pretty fun for me.
On the flipside, I can also see myself being a giggling maniac murderhoboing throughout the land, but it probably won't win me any friends in that playthrough hahahaha!
That's what I do.
I do, and sometimes I lie to the others about it and they fall for it and hang around anyway.... haha
