after reaching baldurs gate in act 3 game is unplayable

i had very little trouble at all. It's more likely to be your computer and/or settings. But, Larian's tech team is working on making things better for everyone and they are making good progress. Visit Swen Vinke's Twitter/X page and see the graphic that shows it. It's a much better way to check on things than here.

A lot of people seem to be having this issue after the last patch and hotfix. 3/4 the way through the game and I cant play it anymore. Party does not follow the leader. Doors wont open, cutscenes take a full minute plus to start. It's not my system because I've had no issues prior to the patch and act 3. Also able to run other games at max settings with no issues.

Exactly the issues I've encountered. Lowered my settings but that did not help. Perhaps I'll start a new game after saving this campaign. Then I'll return to Act 3 once Larian fixes the problems. Hopefully.

bruh just lower your settings. theres a lot of npc's so its obv gonna use lot of cpu and ram, specially with the npc adaptive dialogue option set to on (idk what its called, its the last option in the video settings i think) for accurate tuning use task manager (on performance tab) while tweaking settings. also lowering your fps allowed seems to have the greatest impact specially if you want to keep the high quality textures

Im using a 3060, 32 ram 3200 DDR4, I7 11th gen. I've dumped my cache, verified files, and had it on lowest setting. Even on potato mode the game still stutters/freezes since this update. I had no problem before even I entered high pop areas in act 3/4 game is unplayable at this point.

If you had a previous save in Act 3 before the update, you should be fine it'll function normally (which is why some people are saying everything is fine on their ends), if it's a fresh save after this patch, it is completely unplayable from the end of Moonrise/Githyanki Ambush onwards. There was a temp bandaid fix on reddit linked earlier that might help you. It sucks honestly, cause I have it on PC for myself and Console for a group of friends and it's completely broken on Console to the point you can't even walk 2 feet down the street without it happening for 40+ seconds of buffer times

This is so strange. From the numerous reports I was expecting performance to be bad in act 3, but I get a locked 60fps with all settings on ultra.

This is with a ryzen 5700x which is only a mid range CPU.

Im almost stopping because of save crash in act 3 (always i save game in baldurs gate the game crash and close) is just more 2bugs or crash and i give up to get all archievements and complete the game
