As soon as I enter Rivington & Act3 the Problems starts, unplayable post patch 4!

1. Starting dialogue takes ages sometimes till 2 minutes

2. Companions will stand still and not following you anymore, you are able to walk around with main char but cannot interact with doors nor anything. You also can’t ungroup. You have to wait till the game catches up, can take till 5 minutes.

3. NPC’s and world people will have the walk animation but will not move and just walk staying in one place till the game catches up.

It was very tedious and I’ve managed to play through the rivington area like this. Because I’m crazy! But now when I want to cross the bridge to lower city section it completely stops and become absolutely unplayable! I’ve waited over 10 minutes but it seems I cant get pass the bridge. As I said I can still move my main char but can’t interact with anything.

It seems as if the game has to catch up, fyi I’ve played over 380 hours without an issue before the patch 4. I’ve finished the game completely over 3 times and I’ve never experienced this issue.

Since this drives me crazy and before I stop playing bg3 for the moment, I want to ask the community if anyone has this same issue?

Before you answer it’s no issue at your side:
- I’m talking about act3 only! So if you’re not in act3 after the patch don’t answer.

- Also I never used mods and I’m playing vanilla game.

- and yes I tried both dx11 & Vulkan
- verified steam files 3 times
- even fresh reinstalled the game
- even rerolled back Nvidia driver to see if the driver was causing issues.

None of them resolved the issue so it has to be patch 4 and latest hot fix breaking the game.

I have a beefy PC and playing with rtx 3060ti with 32gb ram!
Pc isn’t the issue since I’ve finished the game with the same rig 3 times before the patch without any issues.

I praised and loved this game but that you aren’t able to play anymore is just very frustrating. This can’t happen for a full priced AAA game!

Thanks for letting me know so that I can put this game aside in peace till this issue in act3 is solved!

I have the same issue. I have beat this game twice with zero issues. I have a newer game and I got to Act3 this weekend and now all the things you experienced I have too. I know its not my system because I never had issues and have like 300hrs in this game. I guess patch 4 messed us up?

Hi! I have the same problem. This time, the game chash up when I started the fight with Tita at the 3th act. I hope they resolves the issues.

I had similar issues to this with this patch, so I've dropped the game. I got my money's worth and I'll be back in a year or so. I know it's disheartening to have to stop in the middle of a play through but I would advise not pushing through this if it can't be fixed on your end, or it'll just lead to misery.

yeah you right, I'll drop the game for now, but it's frustrating since I wanted to get the last 3 achievements.. well I have to wait then..

I see no problem with dialogues but after fast travel companions don't follow Tav and all NPCs are marching without moving for about a minute, after that all normal. So I can reproduce 2 and 3 and can't reproduce 1.

That problem starts when you are near iron throne, i have same issue unfortunellly. Before patch 4 it works but after smth goes wrong

Hmm.. Have you tried to transfer from Rivington to Dragon's crossroads?

awesome, thanks for checking it out & letting me know, I see you made it over the bridge, I wonder what's wrong on my side.. I'm just lost, since it worked all fine for 3 weeks I've been playing..
