They certainly make pickpocketing much easier.
In the sense that invisible could be useful to anyone in a variety of situations, I suppose its a good candidate for 'best overall' since its never bad to have the option. The ability to wear medium armor on characters that normally cannot is pretty sweet too -- it really makes the str based tavern brawler monk easier to build trading str in for wis/dex out/reduced.
Well, I'll hold your hand and tell you that deep gnomes are pretty OP as well, though I leave it up to you to work out why.
