They're speaking English, not a different language.
Technically, they're speaking Common. You're just playing the English localized version.

They sound Bri'ish because that's what Fantasy characters get rendered as. I wonder how that comes across in other translations. Like, do the Chinese translated character actors sound western and posh? Do the ones speaking Undercommon sound American and sweary like they do here?
they sound bri ish, because there the most cheap actors is. A bane of modern voice acting, truly
British actors are trained first for the stage where it's vital that they speak clearly and enunciate perfectly. That's the reason they make the best voice actors for anything that requires vocal skills. They don't mumble, slur their words, or use obscure slang. They aren't required to be young or physically attractive like American actors. They understand the power of the spoken word and are experts in the English language because it is, well, the English language from, you know, England.

Haha, yes, common in terms of lore lore. And I often wondered the same thing. I figure other countries would likely have their own dialect equivalents. Kinda like how when a Japanese localization needs to depict a southerner from the united states, they use the accent and dialect from Osaka.
Lol for some reason this made me think of going to some healer in game, for your tadpole problem, and them being like a Texan with a cowboy hat on going: 'c'mon ya tadpole, go on git!'

You obviously have no idea what Cockney sounds like. you were obviously born a very, very long way away from the sound of Bow Bells.
This is way more like 'BBC spoken English', which sounds a bit posh, but is clear and easy to understand.

of-course they are it's the superior race.
Americans sounds like a butcher meets hell-raiser
At lease we know the difference between a race and country of origin.
Not really, if you get into the philosophy of a certain group of Americans that I will not name. Skin color still equals race in their philosophy.

Yeah, it sounds pretty much like RP to me, not that I'm on expert on British accents. People are hilarious about accents in games. I remember somebody assuming that because the voice actors for Alistair and Morrigan in Dragon Age: Origins were Scottish and Australian respectively that the character's accents were Scottish and Australian...which they were definitely not.
Everyone should of have a deep Southern US drawl.

I mean DEEP.

100% the game would of flopped.
Welcome to the sword coast innit luvvie.

If you want American English then go to Tymanthir... I hear the Dragonborn from there still speak a dialect that is different than the rest of the realms.
