Why does the gith captain know i have the artifact?
I entered the Creche, let Lae'zel use the machine, she suspected the doctor is a traitor, so i went to the gith captain and let Lae'zel start the dialogue. Told her about the suspicion and then the captain just says that we are known/said to have the artifact with us. The game then gives me 2 options: give her the artifact or fight. Wtf. How did the captain know i have it? In the same situation if i don't mention the doctor at all she notices Shadowheart squirming when _asked_ if we brought the weapon with us (as opposed to just saying we have it) and i get out of it with a deception check. This confuses the hell out of me. Is that a bug?

The captain is just smart enought to put two and two together to understand that a gith that wanted to use the anti tadpol machine that came from the crash prob has the artifact.

I've done that scene many times, and yes, I agree it is a flaw in the logic.

If you don't say there is a traitor, she will ask you to go find the artifact. A clear indication that she doesn't know you already have it. But if you do say there is a traitor, she immediately says that you "are known to be carrying the artifact".

the creche offers more info: they know who has it, roughly, and only supreme deception checks can get past their suspicions which is out of character (they would search you anyway, given their desperation and the circumstances). They also know that the high ranking guy is up to something, but can't prove anything yet.

it can just be divine intervention: their queen probably knows who has it and roughly where it is, as well as who is inside it and what they are up to.

To me the only flaw is not strip searching you regardless. If you are innocent, no problem... if you have it... they win.

The Githyanki and the Githerazi [less aggro Gith culture of monks] base all their training around psychic abilities.

between act 1&2 you can sometimes be gifted a psionic detector so the gith also have magical devices to detect and effect psychic energy based skills and auras etc

also since the gith queen is almost god-like, she has avatars and her own paladins that she gives special powers to. so any of her commanders could have a special boon granted by vlaaakith herself to detect the device, since they were all tasked to find it, makes sense.

major spoiler the device itself is gith so vlaakith definitely knows things about it

That part never made any sense to me either. Like i get they want the Creche to know you have it but there had to be a better way to handle that interaction other than a brief bit of omniscience from that Gith

There are notes in the crèche showing they’ve been tracking your movements. It’s clear you are a top suspect of holding the artifact. Then you show up, most likely with one of their own.

The captain doesn’t learn this right there, she’s already been debriefed about you, probably multiple times. Once she realizes who you are you are at the top of her list of potentially having the device that is her primary objective at the moment.

All over the crèche you see evidence that they put a lot of work into intelligence gathering. There are some questionable narrative moments in the game but imo this isn’t one of them.

This game have alot of fail dialogues. When you play as druid and enter on Druid camp, npcs act like you are just an ordinary outsider. I was expecting some dialogue like "You are a druid one of us, but your friends arent, you may enter , alone". But........they act like i were even worse than a tiefling and dont deserve to enter in a druid sanctuary even being also druid. Shame......

Hm, I missed this because I chose to tell him I had the artifact out of curiosity. Also I did this part before trying the cure so I have no idea about her dialogue if you let her try to heal you, I just talkes domething fast to her and left, and once I returned she was aggressive.

I mean, it aint always druids being homies. From how it seems, they were a tight knit group of druids who didnt like outsiders.

I havent played the class yet, but it would have been nice to do that interaction if your druid worship came from sylvanus or whatever

The problem with that reasoning is that if you don't tell her there is a traitor, she'll happily just send you out "to look for the weapon".

Except ... that's not true. I ran a druid and found quite a few places in the grove where either they acknowledged that I was a druid or I could say I was a druid.

yes, but its not integrated fully. I am not sure it should be a warm welcome, since you are not part of THEIR circle, but its a random mix of not knowing or caring that you are a druid (explaining things that you know, like the ritual they are doing, etc) at times and full realization ([druid] says this line) at other times with no consistency.

She's definitely smarter than me then, that's for sure
