Jaheira, Jaheira
When I met her for the first time in this game, right at the entrance of Last Light Inn , I swear I was looking for a menu dialogue option like: "Jaheira, it's me, I'm back, after 100 years, I'm back" and then an option to hug her :D lol

Minsc still being alive after a century, on the other hand, is kind'a... Weird... Still, it brings about good old memories of butt kicking for goodness!

Guess you didnt see a cutscene with Minsc that had been turned to stone, then reverting after a long time. Hence the whole Stone Lord gig. Explaining why he is still alive, he had been timefrozen with petrification.

That scene is not in the game. It was a PR video. It's not actually explained well in the game.

It is hinted that Jaheira herself turned Minsc to stone, at his request, so that he would be able to be called upon in the future.

Minsc's appearance in this game is pure fanservice, but his BG3 backstory is actually from the D&D comic book series named Legends of Baldur's Gate, in which an accidental burst of wild magic hits his statue and reanimates him. He then goes on to be one of the main characters of the series.

I really wanted a 'why the flippity feck are you wielding scimitars' option. Jaheira's iconic weapon is the quarterstaff, even if it's somewhat underpowered for non-monks (assuming the monk isn't an elf) she really should have one. Boot up the first game, play for twenty minutes and you can see it on her portrait!

If they wanted a scimitar-using Druid it should have been Halsin, although honestly I'd have given him a sickle and shield. Yes this is an irrational annoyance, but I really do associate her with the weapon.

Nope. If you examine Jaheira's home in Baldurs Gate, you will find Belm, the same scimitar from Bg1 that was quite popular with druids. Clearly she picked up scimitar use as she grew her proficiencies.

Belm is from BG2 but yeah lol who would play Jaheira with a quarterstaff, especially back when you could not wield one in a single hand?

ah my bad, i couldve sworn it was from Durlag's Tower. I know Tales of the Sword Coast introduced Scimitars for druids in bg1
