It’s a GREAT trade off if you know what you’re doing. Since it’s toggle-able.
GWm is totally broken just cos how easy it is to stack accuracy in bg 3. You even have a weapon that gives you acc on enemies that don't have full hp and it stacks with everything else. lol as halfling you can literally never miss in this game and that's at the start of act 1 and the game just gives you more and more stuff to so it gets even easier later on.
The whole point of the combat is to get bonuses lol that's why all the skills and items are there...
How on earth does she only have 17 strength at level 10? She should be at 20 strength, easy, by level 6, and if you use the hag's hair on her then she can be at 20 strength by level 4.
Great Weapon Master will truly mess with her accuracy with such low strength since it's a +3 instead of a +5.
Great Weapon Master will completely offset the attribute bonus altogether, leaving the +4 proficiency + whatever spells you use to buff yourself. Otherwise you are going to be at a penalty.
With 17 strength that is +3, and with Great Weapon Master that is -5, and the proficiency bonus is +4. 3+4-5=2.
Enemies will have higher AC in Act 3, it's not uncommon to see enemies with 17+ AC. Meaning that Laezel will regularly be in the 25% chance hit her enemies since she'd need to roll a 15 just to hit them.
Me.
It was a challenge run to limit all my buffs to just ASI. No spells, no equipment that buffs stats.
But yeah sounds like OP's problem is they didn't invest in Strength at the ASI levels at all and am guessing they went full on with the feats.
Nah, -5 to hit is definitely part of the problem. The difference between 17 and 20 str is only +2. Like was said above, adding the missing 35% to hit to the stated 45% gives a much more reasonable 80%. And that's without any crazy build issues, just missing the ASIs. You can add in Bless and other buffs, if those aren't included in the OP, to get even higher
