Just use fire resist elixirs on any non-karlach's. You also can easily pre-buff. The pillars are vulnerable to force damage to warlocks/magic missiles or any melee can tear through them near instantly. Just keep Hope away from the fight as she's pretty squishy and can be 1 shot if you're not careful.
As for your question, I have no idea about any contract, the only contract I found was Mol's there. The Crown of Karsus is on the Netherbrain's head. The only way to rescue hope is to kill Raphael, and if you loot anything from the library, there will always be a scripted fight as far as I am aware.
EDIT: In my playthrough, for the whole fight Raphale was paralyzed. From him, I did not have any troubles. I first destroyed his soul pillars and casted with Gale some sort of level 6 purple spell, which seemed to paralyze Raph and take a chunk of his health each turn. Also, if you did not know, in the budoire or what it is called (with the incubus), there is a full rest fauntains.
I did it with just Wyll as my monster holder and a monk Tav throwing stuns the one time he passed a check to get out. Asterion sneak attacks auto crit for over 60 damage on Rapheal, and Karlach to help my Tav kill summons. Wyll attacked pillars while hold monster was active. Since Hope gives a long rest I held nothing back. You prolly will want Hope for divine intervention and healing if you aren't going full cheese.
Edit: A few elixers/ pre fight buffs were used, but overall it wasn't that tough of a fight even without maximum cheese.
Raphael is vulnerable to CC spells. Even if you don’t have this in your party it’s not hard to get a scroll of hold monster or banishment. If you can convince Yugir to fight with you, that and a CC on Raphael makes the fight trivial.
If you can’t convince him, I would banish yugir, hold monster/irresistible dance/hideous laughter on Raphael, then focus the cambions and pillars.
Other than that: avoid fire and radiant damage, and adding fire resistance will be helpful.
