How can I stop the effect "Warding bond" from the true love rings?
I feel like they don't exactly do what I want them to do.
I currently cant do a long rest because I'm in enemy terrain so I can't stop the effect that way... (taking off the rings and giving them to other characters doesn't do anything).

Sorry if any words are confusing, I'm playing in German.

The effect last until long rest once activated. You cant get rid of it before resting.

however, you should not use both rings on party mates in the active group, its just shifting around damage. The clever thing is to put the counterpart ring on a character with high health in the camp and shunt damage to them.

Alright, thank you so much! That makes sense :)

If anybody is interested, I had the counterpart character killed by weak enemies and will now simply revive him since there is a healing station right there. He needs to be completely dead though.

I never thought of that.

I've never used the rings because I didn't see the point (and because there are always way more than 8 rings that I would like to be using at any given time). But giving up only one ring slot to use a camp character as an HP pool -- that might be useful.

You don't even have to keep wearing the ring after the effect has been used! :)

You can also do this without the rings, just hire a follower from Withers and speck it up to be able to cast warding bond and have the most HP possible. eg., use the dwarf, level 3 cleric / 9 barbarian, the "Tough" feat and max Con. If it dies the bond will come off and you just resurect it. If you wanted to be supper cheesey you could hire 4 followers and have the whole party warded, lol.
