Taking screenshots on a Mac?
F12 does nothing, and the standard Shift-Tab to show Steam overlay doesn't work (it shows me the party view, as if I would have pressed the Tab without any additional button). Idk if it's because Larian launcher overrides the Steam functions? Anyone has a way to solve this?

Likely the overlay is disabled in your Steam app options.

I can take screenshots just fine (using fn+F12 because I'm playing on a MacBook Pro). But the screenshots I take are complete unusable garbage because Steam can't cope with the HDR on Mac.

Using the macOS screenshot function (cmd+shift+3) works better. Things still look over exposed, but you can at least see what's going on. Just, obviously, then it's harder to share a screenshot on Steam.

Thank you both for your responses! It turned out that Steam overlay was enabled in general, but disabled for Baldur's Gate 3.

So far I was taking screenshots with Cmd+Shift+3 but that leads to some red highlights and screenshots turn out so badly most of the time. Plus, I haven't figured out yet how to share them on Steam other than in the private chats...

Hi, there is a workaround but its not pretty, as the steam overlay in BG3 seems to be bugged and created acid flashback like images. What you can try, and you use this at your own risk. The steam software allows you the user to see where it's storing its screen shots, so what you can do is, copy the file name of the screen shot and paste that file name on to a mac screen shot ( cmd+shift+3) including the file extension (.jpg) for example 20231105160100_1.jpg then replace the acid coloured steam overlay screen shot with your Mac screen shot. If everything is in the same folder as where steam is saving its overlay images, then in steam you have to close the screen shot manager and then open it again and it how now be using the Mac screen shot instead of the steam ones. Basically what you are doing is, replacing the bugged screenshot with your mac's screenshot by changing the file name to the steam one. The only problem is when you want to put many images you will have to create a bugged steam image for every good mac one.

I haven't had any screenshot problems on my M2 mac mini 8 gb.

Yeah, you'll be fine on a Mini 'cause you're not using the XDR displays of the MacBook Pro. Without HDR enabled there shouldn't be any problem.
