I have cleared the rubble and defeated Nere. There is a poison cloud inside with a door beyond. I have opened the doors and there is only a small platform. Am i missing something?

Nope, that's it. But take a good look at that place behind the doors, it is a reference to smth later in the game : )

If you've found the giant golem on the moving platform after the stone stairs built by the same architect of Moria, you've done.
