Oh, and what about that piddly d4 protection thingy? Might get used once in 150 hour play through.
Don't get me wrong, I like Devotion more too. But I don't think we can argue it's the stronger oath.
Sacred weapon is nice if you can manage to have high CHA *and* high STR (that can be obtained with potions and late game items), but there's not much CHA increasing item (one hat in Act3...)
Or maybe with a finesse build using DEX+CHA but then you forfeit the best weapons (and all the 2H ones and GWM)
Overall you're better with high STR and mediocre CHA and this makes Sacred Wepons not useful
OTOH Vengeance has a better array of support spells : Misty Step, Vow of Enmity, Hunter's Mark, and even Haste !
Edit: Probably should mention I play on Tactician to, so I think I'm going into every fight with a default -2 to hit by default. Add the -5 from GWM and my chance to hit needs A LOT of help to even become reasonable.
A bigger selling point for me is Sanctuary. I can save a lot of NPCs and low health allies with that spell.
Admit it, you're going to play Vengeance.
I didn't realize Vengeance gets Haste, though, and I do agree the devotion oath will be annoying, but this is gonna be my good boy, doormat run anyways. XD
