PATCH TAKING TOO LONG? JUST UNINSTALL YOUR GAME AND REINSTALL IT
*if you have decent internet

Thought this was common knowledge now.

Your saves are stored on the cloud.

Even if they aren't - uninstalling will not delete your local saves.

Much faster than the piecemeal patching.

'Decent' Internets taking 3-4 hours to download this game. Patching takes minutes at worst.

Except if the issue is with the volume of users and Steam's "fleet" of download servers then they will still be stuck in the same boat

I've been downloading the patch since noon

I started downloading at 10 am, and just finished downloading, now I can't even play the game.

took me less the 8 minutes to download the patch and another 4 to install it. Sure glad I have fiber, when you got to go...

Wrong, not always. Something was borked for me today, took about 3 minutes for the patch to install then six hours for it to be applied. That included having to revalidate all my game files and redo the patch. Never had a problem with any path before this, also had 400 Gb free on my SSD.

I have fiber internet at 500MB/s, the patch downloaded quickly but then the 120.4gb install took ages. Only for it to say corrupted when finished, and it then proceeded to download the whole game again from start to finish. When it finished, both download and install, I then had to sit through re-installing(?) the game from 0-100% again - doing 3-5% every 10-15 minutes.

Then when I got back in game, I had no UI indicators. Clicking, didn't see the white circle. Using attacks with an AoE, couldn't see the area indicator. Traps I detected wouldn't reveal, and weirdly the ping didn't appear in-game either.

Now I'm reinstalling, again, hoping it fixes it. The joy.

My patching took 10 minutes at most, went to make food then came back and it was done. Sounds like you people have a skill issue. Update your drivers, replace your drives, something.

Sounds like your only skill is in lying.

Cope. Fix the issue or stop complaining.

Installation process seems broken. Installation time remaining estimates of YEARS on a steamdeck.

I'm better than all of you, and have a better PC and Internet than all of you inferior peasants. Regardless, there are rare instances of one of my millions of games taking absurd amounts of time to "patch". In conclusion, I have more skills than any of you, and weird patching exists. Goodbye and may you all suffer.

I had that problem with Mechwarrior 5. Download was near instant, but patching would get to 99% and just stall. Ended up uninstalling and reinstalling and everything was fine. Might be a Steam issue perhaps?
