Can no longer quick kill Cazador...thanks devs.
One of the more annoying end game boss fights just became even more annoying, it was already hard enough to get him into a position to knock him off to begin with but now, the entire act is pointless as he'll just turn into mist and float back onto solid ground if shoved off... I beat him the legit way mind you but only because i couldn't get him close to a ledge and shove him off.

I figured out how to double-tap Grym with the hammer even after the patch. The secret ingredient: Heat Metal

I was big dumb and never even used the hammer. =P As for Caz, just pop on some sunlight/daylight whatever it's called on your melee guy and whack em. I don't even think he had more than 1 or 2 turns (granted it was one of the later places I went, so I was already Lvl 12).

So playing creatively is a noobs way? Tell that to Okoii who plays solo rouge with the same mentioned barrels. And if you think OP or anyone else would just pick barbarian and minmax him and oneshot everything with ooga booga yells without exploits or anything else, instead of playing creatively, then something is wrong with your statement. Because its more interesting to stack 7 barrles on a bulette and blow him to bits when he jumps out.

I don't know who that is, but did someone just name drop on an internet nerd game forum?

He's meant to be a Boss. It makes sense that they get Legendary Resistances to cheese methods outside of Skill Checks like in Dialogue Choices.

So underdark forge boss needs to get only stun from hammer, and dont recieve damage, because its big and unfair too. You can spam hammer with good positioning on your party. The same with luring Cazador to the ledge and push him off. Let people fight the boss how they want, if they want a hard fight to challenge themselves so be it, if not, let them push him off the fight area.

You don't need the Hammer to kill Grym
Pushing Cazador was buggy as he's able to fly/transform to mist, that should never had killed him

Pushing Cazador off a ledge shouldn't kill him, not only because of the exploit, but because it logically doesn't make sense for him to be able to die in this fashion. He can literally turn into mist that has the ability to fly.

It really isn't hard to position him. Have 20 or more Strength (or chug any Giant Strength potion) on any character with multiattack, then chain Throws on him. It's trivial.

I've never yeeted him off a cliff. If you want to kill him easily, just sneak up on him. A rogue can take 2/3 of his health before he even knows you are there. Other than that, it's not that hard imo as long as you have someone who can cast daylight. Without that, it's annoying as hell.

The Devs welcome your lack of lore knowledge. Steady on, and get good to kill him faster! :D

Um, can't you attack the mist? I killed him in two turns on 2nd difficulty by strongest smites from Paladin, Cleric and Wizard's magic missiles level 5.
Ryllharu Nov 2, 2023 @ 12:54pm
The problem is that you have at best 2 turns to kill him before he ascends and kills Astarion permanently if you brought him. The others in the spell circle have a lot of health individually. Cazador spends both of those turns fleeing from you while surrounding himself with equally-invulnerable werewolves.

You're still cheesing it by starting combat from stealth (skipping the rather good cutscene) and using a Paladin with a half-dozen smites and Luck of the Far Realms, or a Sorlock with haste potions.

The fight is just poorly designed. The raid on Bodhi's tomb from BG2 it is not.

Careful Daylight spell ruins the cutsceen and you can no long rescue the Gur kids. I beat Cazador the legit way and then couldn't save the kids. I saw online, the Daylight spell makes the nice(er) vampires run.

I had to reload a save, rest in the attic and kill Cazador a 2nd time ( Easier without his allies) then the cutsceen trigered.

What are you talking about? Just have someone use Misty Step and go free Astarion on the first round. Then have your party members stand on the glyphs and lob spells and arrows at him. It's an easy fight when you don't let him have all his buffs.

If shoving enemies off ledges was cheating, the devs would have patched it out already, so nice try on that one.
in what universe does shoving a full-fledged vampire off a cliff actually kill them?
